HOW TO MAKE THE MALL A BRAND IN ITS OWN RIGHT, WHILE STILL KEEPING RETAILERS HAPPY.

The Mall is the UK’s largest chain of community shopping malls. Their offer to their tenants – big brand retailers – was to not merely be a box, but to enhance the overall shopping experience – in other words they were offering retailers better footfall, frequency and duration of visit.   However, it was important to retailers that The Mall brand didn’t overshadow their own brands.  Dave’s was appointed in 2005 to help this proposition make sense for retailers.  We started by redefining The Mall’s brand positioning and then enhanced this with a range of service innovation concepts that would enhance shopping experience.  This was used as the basis of The Mall’s pitch to retailers and has been instrumental in its success.
