Dave wins gold

Dave picked up a gold award for Direct Marketing at this year's Marketing Design Awards.

Last April we were asked to take part in the Channel 4 programme, Battlefronts. A documentary series about young people trying to change the world by campaigning for issues they care deeply about.

We were asked to help Holly Shaw raise awareness about organ donation and, more importantly, get more people to sign the organ donor register.

Two Minute Heroes was our campaign idea, based around a basic key insight: 90% of people in the UK agree with the concept of organ donation, yet only 27% have actually registered as a donor. We set about debunking the misconception that registering is both time consuming and a hassle. Our message was simple: it takes less time to sign up online than it does to make a cup of tea.

The mailer offered a free tea bag with a simple message, be a hero and put the kettle on (and sign the donor register whilst it brews).
A huge success which captured the imagination of the press, the media and even the Prime Minister!

Well done to everyone involved.

Dave wins MEGA

Last night the Dave crew were living it up at Sketch to pick up another award. This time it was a MediaGuardian Innovation Award for our work for Ski Republic.

Dave was tasked to create a new brand for the business and then launch this in the UK and France simultaneously. The task was simple, though far from easy: to secure 50,000 ski rentals in the first season from a standing start.  We beat this target two months early!

We were up against Mencap and the The National Magazine Company.

The MEGAs were launched last year and are judged by a high profile panel including Peter Bazalgette, Brent Hoberman and Katie Derham, the Megas provoked debate, discussion, tantrums and tabloid headlines, and ultimately a fantastic line up of winners. Channel 4, Playstation3 and the team behind the online launch of Radiohead’s “In Rainbows” were amongst the winners in 2008.

Onwards and upwards!

There is just one winner in each category and only 10 winners in total across all categories – so it’s a great one to win.

All winners are listed on the World Luxury Awards website.

The client is very happy with this win as are we!
